Casey was born in western Kansas and moved to Creede at the age of 9. He graduated Salutatorian from Creede high school in 2002. Casey attended Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) in Rangely Colorado where he received his associates degree in applied science. He also earned his Commercial pilots certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings, and his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate with instrument instructor rating. Upon completion of the flight program, he returned to CNCC and earned his Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate. Casey and his future wife Joni, spent several years in Sitka Alaska where Joni worked as an RN and Casey worked as an aircraft mechanic for Harris Air. Upon returning to Creede Casey and Joni were married in August of 2010. Casey spent the next several years as a Core Driller for Connors Drilling in Creede and several mines in Nevada. In 2013 he accepted the Caretaker position at Humphreys Lodge near Creede where he and his family live today. Casey and Joni have three girls who are or will be in the Creede Schools.
