Free Lunches for All Kids

Dear Creede School District Families,

We are pleased to inform you that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended the waivers that were initially implemented in March at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. These waivers will allow us to provide free meals to all children in our community aged 18 and under through December, dependent on available funding.

Any lunch charges acquired in the early weeks of this school year will be credited back to students’ accounts, and there will be no charge for lunches for any student while these waivers remain in place. However, if your student opts to have additional servings or a la carte milk, the purchase price will be charged to their account. Any lunch money that has been paid to the school will be retained in your student’s account to be used when these waivers expire.

Additionally, if you have children in your household who are homeschool, remote-learning or below school age and they would like to take advantage of free lunches, we will be scheduling pick-up times for to-go lunches in front of the school or at the South Fork Fire Department. Please keep an eye out for more information and instructions on this next week.

If you have any questions, please contact Lori Heinrich in the school office: lori@creedek12.net, 719-658-2220.
