Job Position Opening for an Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher
General Description: The Creede School District is seeking a full-time ESS teacher who can be dedicated to the profession and to Creede School District’s overall mission. Creede offers a picturesque rural setting in Southern Colorado and boasts small class sizes for a personalized learning experience.
The basic function of the ESS Teacher is to work with students who have special needs in their general education classroom or a separate, designated classroom. The ESS Teacher collaborates with parents, classroom teachers, the school psychologist, related service providers, and other staff. This teacher adapts curriculum, serves as a liaison with resources, and provides assessments and interventions based on testing and observation. This teacher serves as an important member of a team and is able to design Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to personalize learning goals and make accommodations and/or modifications for each student.
Knowledge and Skills for an Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Teacher
The ESS Teacher must possess the following knowledge and skills:
Thorough knowledge of current special education laws, rules, and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of students with disabilities including those with learning, behavior, and social/emotional needs.
Skilled in administering, scoring, and interpreting various assessment tools.
Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology such as IPads to individualize instruction.
Ability to effectively analyze needs and problems objectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.
The skill and ability to communicate - both orally and in writing
Requirements
BA, BS degree; Colorado Teaching Certificate with Licensure in Special Education
Experience preferred working with children in an educational setting but not a requirement.
Salary/Wage: Based on degree, years of experience, and credits. See website for salary schedule

Job Position Opening for a K-12 Intervention Services Teacher
General Description: The Creede School District is seeking a full-time K-12 Intervention Services
teacher who can be dedicated to the profession and Creede School District’s overall mission.
Creede offers a picturesque rural setting in Southern Colorado and boasts small class sizes for a
personalized learning experience.
The primary responsibility of the Intervention Services Teacher is to support teachers and students
with specific strategies designed to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth in all identified
intervention students (including both low and high-performing students). In addition to teaching
specific skills in a one-to-one setting or small group of students, the Intervention Services Teacher
will also help support general classroom teachers with training and resources concerning research-
based interventions.
