Mrs. Gray graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay with a Degree in Instrumental Music K-12 emphasis in Flute Performance/Piano and a minor in Aesthetic Education. Her first teaching job was in South Conejos.  In 1987 she taught at Sanford School District and also began teaching at Adams State University. She taught flute and piano along with Class Piano, Music Theory I and II, Basic Musicianship I and II, along with accompanying students for recitals. While teaching at Adams State University she completed a Master's Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Music. 

She served as Color Guard Coach for Alamosa High School (1984, 1991) and Sargent High School from 1988 thru 1995. 

In 1997, Mrs. Gray began teaching Preschool/Pre-K music in Creede through a grant. Each year another grade level was added. Mrs. Gray completed the Kodaly Music Education Concept in 2001 from Silver Lake College (now Lakeland College). She left Adams State University in 2005 to pursue education in the Creede School District. Through the years the music program has continued to grow. In 2005-2006 she took on managing the Alpine Achievement website (now eduClimber), progress monitoring, and keeping track of progress monitoring statistics; 2006 she became the District Assessment Coordinator. 

In 2011 she began taking math classes to teach 4th grade math. After two years she was moved to 6th grade math. She continues to take math classes.

She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
