Superintendent Lis Richard
Superintendent Richard places a high priority on providing excellent training to employees and developing a myriad of effective programs for every learner. Seeing every student succeed is the heartbeat of her work. She brings community together in many creative forums in order to benefit our future. For over 30 years, Superintendent Richard has been a passionate educator. Before coming to Creede, she led one of the highest performing schools in the state. Under her leadership, the school doubled in size and maintained their quality in academics and strengthened their programs. The school was a twelve-year winner of the “John Irwin School of Excellence Award.” Seven of those twelve years were under her leadership with increasing enrollment. She has 13 years of administrative experience and 16 years in the classroom at elementary, middle and high school levels. Twice she has received “Teacher of the Year” awards and is a recognized education consultant in the Western United States. She is a national presenter in the field of education and has also had the privilege to present at the Core Knowledge State Conference as well as the Colorado League of Charter Schools Conference. Superintendent Richard has earned two undergraduate degrees in education and theory of education. She holds a masters degree and is currently a candidate in the Walden University doctorate program. She is an author and presenter for Character First. She also has extensive leadership training including completion of Core Knowledge Leadership Training programs at its Leadership Institute.
