Career and Technical Education Program
The Creede School District is currently working toward approval on a complete Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program for our high school. The process is underway and should be complete by December of this year (2017). We already have four certified teachers and fields for this program. We are excited to offer the following for our students:

SUPERINTENDENT LIS RICHARD
Superintendent Richard comes to Creede with over 29 years of experience in education. Her desire to see every student succeed is the heartbeat of her work as she places a high priority on providing excellent training to our employees and developing a myriad of effective programs for every learner.Her strength will be evident in bringing our community together in many creative forums in order to benefit our future. Listening to the staff, parents, students, community, and others will be the springboard of her service to our great district.
For over 29 years, Superintendent Richard has been a passionate educator. Most recently she has led one of the highest performing schools in the state. Under her leadership, the school doubled in size and maintained their quality in academics and strengthened their programs. The school was a twelve-year winner of the “John Irwin School of Excellence Award.” Seven of those twelve years were under her leadership with increasing enrollment. She has 13 years of administrative experience and 16 years in the classroom at elementary, middle and high school levels. Twice she has received “Teacher of the Year” awards and is a recognized education consultant in the Western United States. She is a national presenter in the field of education and has also had the privilege to present at the Core Knowledge State Conference as well as the Colorado League of Charter Schools Conference.
Superintendent Richard has earned two undergraduate degrees in education and theory of education. She holds a masters degree and is currently a candidate in the Walden University doctorate program. Superintendent Richard is an author and presenter for Character First. She also has extensive leadership training including completion of Core Knowledge Leadership Training programs at its Leadership Institute.
