April 20th, 2026 Dear Creede School Families, Over the next two weeks, your student will take the second MAP Growth test from NWEA on an iPad or chromebook. We administer the MAP growth tests to determine the student’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year in Language Arts and Mathematics. NWEA MAP growth tests are nationally normed and are unique in that they adapt to the student’s level of learning. If the student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. This results in a detailed picture of what your student knows and is ready to learn –whether it is on, above, or below grade level. Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about your student’s learning, it is easy for teachers to identify students with similar scores that are generally ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly. Here are some suggestions on how you can help your student prepare for the test. Make sure your student is well rested on school days and especially the day of the test. Students who are tired are less able to pay attention in class or to handle the demands of a test. Make sure your student has a good breakfast. A healthy body leads to a healthy, active mind. Make sure your student gets to school on time for the next two weeks. Elementary testing dates are scheduled for 4-27, 4-28, 4-29, & 4-30. Secondary test dates are scheduled for 5-4, 5-5, 5-6 & 5-7. Seniors do not have to report to school until 10:00 a.m. on testing dates. Thank you for engaging in the process as we work together to support our children. Respectfully, Mrs. Cindy Haberman Principal, Creede School District

March 31, 2026 Dear Creede Families, The Colorado Measures of Student Success (CMAS) testing will begin on Monday, April 6. CMAS tests are the only common measuring tool for students in grades 3 through 9 in Colorado. Participation is important because results help students, parents, schools and districts understand whether students have mastered the content they need to know by the end of the school year and are on track to be ready for college or career after graduation. All students in grades 3 through 8 will be tested in English Language Arts and Math. Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 will be tested in Science. Students in grades 4 and 7 will be tested in Social Studies this year. The state test for juniors is the SAT, which will be administered April 14. The state test for sophomores is the PSAT 10, which will be administered April 15. The state test for freshmen is the PSAT 8/9 which will be administered on April 16. We have a small window in which to conduct our testing, so attendance is extremely important to avoid make-up testing. Testing will begin promptly at 8:15am. To help your student perform their best on test day, we encourage the following: ✅ Ensure your student gets a good night’s sleep before testing. ✅ Provide a healthy breakfast on the morning of the test. ✅ Arrive at school on time to avoid any disruptions. ✅ Encourage a positive attitude and remind your child to do their best. We appreciate your support in making this a smooth and successful testing experience for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at 719-658-2220. Thank you for your partnership in your student’s education! Respectfully, Mrs. Haberman Creede School District, Principal
